Jo is a specialist woodwind teacher, offering lessons on flute, recorder and beginner clarinet.  She also teaches piano and music theory.

Jo believes that music education benefits brain development, creative thinking, problem solving, discipline, independent learning, self esteem, team work, multi-tasking, communication, motor skills, perseverance and ‘produces a kind of pleasure which human nature cannot do without’ (Confucius).  She has a working knowledge of the current music examination syllabuses and accompanies her own students for their practical exams.  However, she is equally happy to teach students who would just like to play for pleasure and prefer not to take examinations.

Lessons are charged at £15 for half an hour with payment being requested in advance for blocks of 6 lessons. Jo aims to offer 12 lessons a term, with extra lessons being available in the school holidays upon request. 24 hours notice is required for cancelling a lesson and lessons cancelled after this point will still be charged for.
